Our house is now accepting reservations for the reopening!

Before telling you when and how, Emerson and I need to thank, with all our hearts, everyone who trusted us and helped us in this endeavor in many different ways. 

 

What happened to us was truly extraordinary and very moving. Thanks to the compassion of incredibly supportive people, Sanjão is about to work again. All our love, all our gratitude, to each of these people.

 

You who helped us, know: you are now co-author of this story! Your help was essential for us to continue our work.

We've been a little out of the loop for the last forty-odd days because I, Stella, have been facing some health problems. During this period, however, Emerson continued to work, often alone, at an intense pace. The result is what you will see starting this week.

 

With what we collected in material and money, through the crowdfunding campaign, it was possible to carry out a very significant part of the work and the restaurant's operating infrastructure. Today, however, even with the house without a new paint, even without the happy chickens and without some details that we insist on providing - but that are not yet within our reach -, Sanjão has to reopen._cc781905-5cde-3194 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_

 

Currently, July 2022, we are experiencing a paradox: it is a moment of immense satisfaction to arrive here, as well as our moment of greatest financial difficulty. We have been without billing since November last year. 

 

Even so, even without all the necessary material resources, day by day during these more than five months of works, under all the adversities of the way, we follow the determination and the commitment to reopen the Sanjão. And we're about to make it.

 

We look forward to seeing you here and exchanging that long hug. Can't wait any longer, folks! In our current situation, if on the one hand there is a lack of finishing in the physical space, dedication overflows so that everything is always the best we can serve. There is also a willingness to face this new stage and of course, we are very happy to be able to welcome our customers again.

So we ask, once again, for your understanding for the unfinished work and patience for the practices we will adopt in order to deliver the quality experience that our customers know. So, we have two initial measurements:

 

  1. At first, we will serve a reduced number of tables,only by booking in advance, on Saturdays and Sundays and holidays, from 1 pm to 5 pm, as of July 16, 2022;

 

  2.  We still don't have all the resources to replenish the stock and cover the initial operating expenses. Therefore, we continue to accept donations.​
